High-Temperature Spray Wrinkle Paint
Perfect for the original restoration of sports car engines such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Harley Davidson, Lancia Stratos, Delta HF Integrale, Escort Cosworth.

The high-temperature wrinkle paint is also widely used for design and decorative objects, such as Nikon camera lenses and furniture items, thanks to its incredible resistance to scratches, heat, and abrasions.

Once dried, it is more resistant than catalyzed paint, but it is essential to follow the technical data sheet instructions carefully to achieve the desired results.

For correct application on engines, using our high-temperature primers is mandatory. For other uses in the design and architecture sectors, we recommend consulting the technical data sheet and contacting our office.

Differences Between Liquid and Spray Versions

• The spray version is available in standard medium-small wrinkle and XL large wrinkle, similar to the original liquid version used in body shops.
• The spray version is unsuitable for large components, such as some engine heads or design objects, as it cannot provide uniform coverage over large surfaces. For professional work, we recommend using the liquid version applied with body shop spray guns.

Preparation of Metal or Alloy Surfaces

• Exclusively and mandatorily use our Wrinkle Primer.
• Sandblast and paint within 2 hours of sandblasting using Wrinkle Primer.
• Handle parts with latex gloves to avoid oxidation and clean thoroughly with Wrinkle Paint Degreaser.
• Remove any old paint or rust with sandpaper if sandblasting is not performed.
• Prime with Wrinkle Paint primers (spray or liquid) only—do not use other brands.

Preparation of Plastic Surfaces

• Always apply Wrinkle Primer.
• Clean parts with anti-static degreasers like our universal silicone remover.
• Remove old paint or residues and apply our Wrinkle Plastic Primer.

Application of Wrinkle Paint
The application method is the same for spray and liquid versions:

1. Shake the spray can or stir the liquid paint thoroughly.
2. Use a spray gun with a 1.3 or 1.4 mm nozzle, filtering the liquid through body shop filters.
3. Apply one or two coats of primer and let it dry for one hour at room temperature.
4. Apply a light anchor coat, wait 5 minutes, and then apply three full coats with intervals depending on temperature.

Curing and Wrinkling Process

1. Use a small oven or body shop oven at 70°C (158°F) for 30 minutes until wrinkles form.
2. Let the piece cool for 12 hours and cure at room temperature for one week.

Handling and Assembly

• Handle pieces the day after wrinkling.
• Assemble components after 48–72 hours, but note that full curing takes 1–3 weeks.

Aesthetic Characteristics and Durability
The wrinkle texture, resembling corduroy velvet, varies depending on the number of coats applied. Famous textures include those of Harley Davidson Nightster, Ferrari, and Lamborghini engines. Once dried, the paint is more durable than catalyzed coatings.
